Three days of photojournalism, film, exhibitions, education, human rights and community engagement in Gijón / Xixón.
The 2025 edition of the Asturias International Photojournalism Festival took place in Gijón / Xixón from 1 to 3 October 2025.
Over the course of three days, the programme featured a mix of in-person and virtual activities, including conferences, screenings, workshops, exhibitions, talks and educational sessions aimed at promoting critical thinking, raising awareness and fostering social engagement.
The Festival featured leading figures from the worlds of cinema, journalism, photojournalism and social activism, including Fernando León de Aranoa, Lola Salvador, Óscar Camps, Alfonso Bauluz, Manu Brabo, Patricia Simón and Ariadna Creus, amongst others.

The event hosted the presentation ceremony for the 2025 Humanist Photography Award, which was presented to Diego Ibarra Sánchez at a ceremony attended by more than 130 people.
