Training in visual storytelling, ethics and documentary narratives
Learning to look is also learning to understand. Training is one of the key themes of the Asturias International Photojournalism Conference.
The festival’s educational programme is aimed at students, professionals in the fields of visual arts and communication, teachers, social organisations and members of the public with an interest in photojournalism and documentary photography.
Through workshops, masterclasses, screenings, discussions and educational activities, the Festival provides a space to reflect on how visual narratives are constructed, how vulnerable realities are portrayed, and what responsibilities those who report through images have.
The 2025 edition integrated film, photojournalism and human rights into educational activities with students and teachers, reinforcing the value of the image as a tool for teaching and raising awareness.
